Obituary of Satomi Johnson

Private Family Satomi Johnson Satomi 56 passed away at her Olympia home with her family nearby, following an 18 month battle with cancer. Satomi was born February 4, 1955 in Izena Okinawa, Japan to Trukichi and Yoshi Kina. She grew up in Okinawa and graduated High School. She came to the United States and had work in many custodial and housekeeping jobs in different location, including, Okinawa, California, Germany and Washington. Satomi and JJ (Ivan Leroy Johnson, Jr.,) eloped to Reno, Nevada on May 9, 1989 while on the way to the National Bowling Association Tournament. She enjoyed gardening, bowling, and cooking, baking and spending time with her 12 grandchildren as well as her friends. Satomi's family will remember her for her strength, compassion and her selfless giving and loving. She was the "Rock of our Family". She is survived by her husband JJ (Ivan Leroy Johnson, Jr.) and children Matthew (Vanessa) O'Daniel, Astra (Henry Collin) O'Daniel, Michele (Michael) Otter-Johnson and Kim Marie Johnson. Her sister Mituko Uezu and two brothers Hidezu Kina and Yasu Kina , 12 grandchildren, Rasheed Collins, Marcello O'Daniel, Tariq Collins, Elysha O'Daniel, Rasheed O'Daniel, Rayona O'Daniel, Michael Otter-Johnson, Brianna O'Daniel, Louis O'Daniel, III, Monique Otter-Johnson, Satomi Collins, and Ibrahim Collins and great grandchild Jaida Collins, as well as a host of close friends.
