Obituary of Kenneth Johnson

Kenneth “Kenny” Johnson Kenneth (Kenny) Franklin Johnson, resident of Harmony, Washington, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2009 at his home. Kenny was born in Aberdeen on January 11, 1933 and spent his early years at Simpson’s Logging Camp #5, where he loved exploring the woods. Ken’s family moved to the Mossyrock area, where he subsequently attended grade school. They then moved to Edgewood and Ken graduated from Puyallup High School in 1952. He attended Prairie Bible Institute at Three Hills Alberta, Canada, and returned to Edgewood. Ken became a working shareholder at Puget Sound Plywood in Tacoma, until his retirement 38 years later. He then returned to the family homestead in Harmony where he had spent most of his childhood. Ken enjoyed working the land, including cutting firewood and burning brush. He collected loppers, chainsaws, and power equipment of all kinds, was a master fire starter (always appreciated at hunting camp), and had a way with animals. Ken loved the Lord, modeled the Fruit of the Spirit in his daily life, and attended Mountain View Baptist Church in Centralia, Washington. This Godly Man was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Anna (Kjesbu) Johnson, and brother Allen Johnson. He is survived by his daughter Janet (Rich) Tevis, and their sons Richie and Darrell, and by his son Jeff (Sheila) Johnson and their daughters Wendy and Kari, and siblings Don (Helen) Johnson and Ruth Johnson. The family would like to thank Dr. McCurry and staff, Dr. Williard, Dr. Osborn and the team at Capitol Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at Mountain View Baptist Church in Centralia at 10:30 am, August 7, 2009, followed by a graveside service at Dunn Cemetery in Mossyrock at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that remembrances be made to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association or Assured Home Health & Hospice.
