Obituary of Gertrud M. Johnson

Gertrud M. Johnson, a longtime resident of Olympia, died at Providence St. Peter Hospital on the 4th of July from Metastic Lung Cancer. She was born September 1, 1940 in Nurnberg, Germany to Robert and Marie (Meier) Rodl. While living in Nurnberg she married Madison J. Johnson on February 4th, 1957. Gertrud liked to spend time with her beloved children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Madison of the family home in Olympia, a son, Jeff of Olympia; daughter, Jeannie M. Johnson of Portland, Oregon; her mother, Marie Rodl of Nurnberg, Germany who will celebrate her 99th birthday on July 30th;sister, Elfriede Manery of Louisiana and four grandchildren. She is preceded in death by a son, Richard B. Johnson and a brother, Robert Rodl. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 10th at Masonic Memorial Park in Tumwater. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
