Obituary of Eben Johnson

Eben Leslie Johnson (Bud) passed away of natural causes on August 3, 2008 at Saint Peters Hospital in Lacey. He was born on September 2, 1919 in Topsham, Maine to Herbert M Johnson and Gladys E. (Ross) Johnson. Bud was the second of 15 children, and is survived by sisters Marie Godbout, and Isabelle Johnson of Long Meadow , Massachusetts, Doris Cleveland of Buckley, Washington, Betty Michaud and Norman of Lewiston, Maine, and Sarah Cote of North Whitefield, Maine; three Brothers Herbert Johnson JR. of Clearwater, Florida, Ernest Johnson of Washington, and George Johnson and wife Ann of Florida. He is also survived by his grandchildren Danetta, Debbie Dempsey of Florida, Genia Craudell and husband Jim , Mathew Johnson ,Pam Madison and husband Scott, and Chris Meyer and wife Tracy all of Washington; great grandchildren Cory, Jared, and Mariah, of Florida; Jennifer, Cody, Emily, Trevor, Katie, Taryn, Lorelei, and daughter in law Brigitte Johnson, all of Washington. Survivors also include numerous nieces and nephews from all over the country. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy in 2006, son Donald in 2007; and a brother Walter and sisters Evelyn, Helen, Florence, Marjorie, and Jean.Bud married Dorothy I. McClean on May 25, 1940 in Boston, Massachusetts. They had one son Donald. Bud served in the Navy from 1944-1946 and worked as Lead Mechanic for United Airlines from which he retired in 1979. In his younger days he enjoyed flying his small airplane, traveling, camping, and working on projects around his house. He was an Eagles member for many years ,and a lifetime member of the Elks where he spend many hours volunteering .He has lived in Hoodsport and Shelton for the past 40 years. A graveside service will be held at Washington Memorial Park in SeaTac. The date and time to be announced later. Please call Brigitte @877-0428 for information.
