Obituary of Duke Johnson

Duke Johnson Duke Johnson, 50, of Olympia died Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at his home. Duke was born October 7, 1957 in San Francisco, California to John B. and Virginia J. (Dellinges) Johnson. He was a graduate of Terra Nova High School in Pacifica, California. He moved from Pacifica to Washington in 1974 where he joined the U. S. Army at Ft. Lewis. In 1982 Duke became a Corrections Officer for the Washington State Department of Corrections working there until 2005. He enjoyed boating, playing guitar, martial arts and camping. Survivors include two sons, Kris Johnson, Olympia and Matt Watson of Graham; one brother, Bob Weigant, Parhump, Nevada; one sister, Sandy Grayson, Anderson, California; also one grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jack Johnson. Duke was an active, funny, free spirited soul and will be missed greatly by his family and friends. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
