Obituary of Annette Ikenberry

Family viewing took place on January 5, 2012. Annette Ikenberry August 23, 1951 – January 4, 2012 Our Mother Mom loved many things in life but she loved her grandkids the most. Elvis Presley was very close in second place. Mom and her twin sister, Jan, had tickets to see Elvis weeks before his death. I don’t think they ever really recovered from that. Our mother was a giving person. If you were in need, she would offer you a meal to warm your belly, a bed to warm your body and a shoulder to rest your troubles on. She provided a home to not just the three children she gave birth to, but a small army of neighborhood kids and friends that we brought home that all knew her as “Mom”. If the words were ever uttered that Mom needs help, a wave of people would show in an effort to repay a small amount of the kindness that she gave to everyone. Mom had the unusual ability to look at people without judgment. It didn’t matter where you were in life or what problems you were facing. She gave compassion and unconditional love to anyone who needed it. She was a military wife for many years. We would always have a house full of soldiers during the holidays when they couldn’t go home for leave. We miss you and will always remember!
