Obituary of Judy Hurt

Judy Delese Anderson Hurt Judy passed away February 23, 2010 at Capital Medical Center, surrounded by her family. Judy was born January 30, 1937 to Enoch and Gertrude (Merring) Anderson in Olympia. She attended Lincoln Grade School and Olympia High School. She moved to Seattle in her early years and worked as a legal secretary to Bill Gates, Sr. Later she moved back to Olympia and for the rest of her career worked as a legal secretary for the Attorney General’s Office until her retirement. Judy was very sociable and loved her high school reunions and frequent get-togethers with her high school friends of 1955. She was instrumental, along with other alumni, of getting a small monument installed marking the spot of the original Olympia High School. She loved having lunch or dinner and seeing movies with her many friends. She loved to watch Jeopardy, Law and Order and NCIS and she especially loved her cats, gardening and reading. She also volunteered many hours with the Olympia Police Department. She was loved by all and will be sorely missed by all of those who knew her and will never be forgotten. Her mother and father predeceased her. She is survived by her ex-husband Robert Hurt of Tumwater, a daughter Jennifer (Robert) Gehrke of Rainier, sons Jeff Hurt of Spokane and Eric (Kathy) Hurt of Lacey, a brother Jim Anderson, a sister Janet Anderson, both of Tumwater, three grandchildren, Allison and Ian Gehrke and Iesha Hurt, a nephew, David (Carey) McKie of Lacey, and her special friend Charles Scoville of Olympia. A celebration of her life will be at a later date. Please leave memories and condolences for the family online by clicking "View Guestbook" below.
