Obituary of Richard Kenneth Hurst

Richard Kenneth (Ken) Hurst, 74, of Aberdeen, Washington, went to be with his Heavenly Father, July 22, 2006. Ken was born in Tulare, California November 22, 1931 to John and Ruby (Hobson) Hurst. Ken had been ill for the last several years. He was surrounded by his family at the time of his passing. Ken attended grade school and high school in Killeen, Texas. He entered the US Army at the age of 18. He was field commissioned to 2nd Lt. during the Korean Conflict. Ken lived in Tacoma where he and his first wife Marjorie raised their family. He was employed in transportation and mechanical engineering. For the last 16 years, Ken has lived in Grays Harbor at Oakville and Aberdeen. In his later years, Ken enjoyed dancing also gardening where his talents were displayed in the newspaper several times. He enjoyed building bird houses, feeding and watching the birds. He also enjoyed fishing, boating, cooking, baking and Barbequing. Ken was a member of the Wynoochie Masonic Lodge and the International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers Union. Ken leaves behind his wife Lucy, of the family home; two sons, John A. (Melody) Hurst of Auburn, WA, Richard K. (Jeanne) Hurst of Roy, WA; one daughter, Deborah (Lester) Bundy of Gig Harbor, WA; five grandsons, Joshua and Christopher Hurst, Patrick, Evan and Jacob Bundy; three granddaughters, Shawn and Melena Hurst and Emily Bundy. Ken was very fond of Randy Moore whom he referred to as his adopted son. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 29, 2006 at The Claquato Cemetery, 142 Stearns Rd., Chehalis, WA 98532. There will be a Celebration of Life following the graveside service at Riverside Park, Station 3 in Centralia.
