Obituary of Gerald G. Hope

none Jerry, 53, of Olympia, lost his battle to cancer at home surrounded by his family on January 9, 2006. Jerry grew up following his father's footsteps as a logger and mechanic. He also served 4 years in the Army stationed in Colorado. Jerry is survived by his mother, Barbara; daughters, Danielle Sanchez and her husband "Shorty", and Cherish Hope; grandchildren, Matteo, Enrique, Jasmine Sanchez-Hope, and Nicholas Hope; his sisters, Susan Kingrey and her husband Bill, and Wendy Marrs; nephew, David Rixe; nieces, Jennifer Rixe, Crystal Marrs and her fiance' Jeremy Shiflett, Nicole Strolh and her husband Derek; one grandniece, Kaya Rixe; and his faithful dog, Chip. Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Gerald and brother, Michael. Jerry was married twice, first to Mary Sheldon in October 1973 and then started his family with Paula Applin and her son Michael in July 1977. Jerry was proud of the fact that he passed his 11th year of sobriety. He enjoyed hobbies such as gun collecting, knives, a unique collection of lighters, and going on yearly Reno trips with his family. He also enjoyed his daily walks with his dog and Aunt. Jerry will be loved and missed by all.
