Obituary of Barbara Ellen Hope

Beloved Mother and Grandmother Barbara Ellen (Ebersole) Hope, died June 15 at her home of 43 years. She was Valedictorian of her 8th grade graduating class and was always very bright. She married her husband of 54 years, Gerald J. Hope, November 25, 1950, and having four children, Gerald G. (Jerry), Michael, Susan and Wendy. As her children got older, she started work and retiring from the Department of Natural Resources, Webster’s State Tree Nursery. Barbara enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed working in her garden and her trips to Reno with her husband and son. She always enjoyed her Canasta card games with her sister and brother-in-law. Barbara was also on the Point Tavern pool league for many years. Her favorite hobbies were her flowers, always proud of her Dahlias and fuchsias. She enjoyed all birds, hummingbirds being her favorite. In the evenings, she enjoyed watching her favorite shows, M*A*S*H and Little House on the Prairie. Barbara is survived by her daughters, Susan E. Kingrey, husband Bill, Wendy L. Marrs, fiancée, Marc, her grandchildren Danielle Sanchez-Hope, husband Manual (Shorty), Cherish Hope, Dave Rixe, Jennifer Rixe, Nicole Kingrey, Crystal Shiflet, husband Jeremy and Michael Applin. Her great-grandchildren; Matteo, Enrique and Jasmine Sanchez-Hope, Kaya Rixe, Nicholas Hope and Natalia Shiflet. Sister, Marie Russell; brother, Donald Ebersole, and many nieces, nephews and friends. Her mini-pin, Baby, and many other children that considered her grandma. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gerald J.; sons, Gerald G. and Michael; and her brother Raymond. Mom you will always be in our hearts and greatly missed! A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 23, 2007 at Mills and Mills Memorial Park, 5725 Littlerock Rd. SW, Tumwater, WA.
