Obituary of Lois Hersey

Lois Hersey, known to many as Ami, passed away on the 4th of July. She was born April 11, 1926 in Manitoba, Canada and moved to Tacoma in 1944 where she met and married her great love, Don Hersey in 1947. Don and Lois moved to Long Lake in Olympia in 1959 where they raised their children, Vicki, Jihl, Joyce and Jeff. The family had many great years at the lake, as well as, hunting, fishing and camping all over the Pacific Northwest until Don’s death in 1983. After Don’s passing Lois continued her adventures, traveling around Europe, Canada, Mexico and every state including her favorite, Alaska. The battle she fought against cancer for 16 years is an inspiration of courage and optimism to us all. As we all say hello to our new guardian angel, we would like to thank you Ami, for all your support. Love your grandkids, Andrea, Kristen, Erin, Amanda, Lindsey, Ty, Tanner, Johnny, Dale and Amy and Emma. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to: Providence SoundHomeCare and Hospice, 3432 South Bay Rd. NE, Lacey. Our mother, our friend, our strength.
