Obituary of Christine Susan Henry

none Christine Henry, 50, of Lacey, died unexpectedly at her home Friday, October 21, 2005. She was born April 27, 1955 in Orlando, Florida to James and May Deckard. In 1973 she graduated from Taft High School in Lincoln City, Oregon. She served in the United States Army from 1976 to 1979 mostly at Ft Riley, Kansas. Christine married Junius R. Henry, who survives, on December 21, 1978 in Manhattan, Kansas. For 15 years, Christine worked as a cashier in the Army Commissary System at Ft Riley, Kansas and Ft Lewis. Growing up in an Air Force family and as a military wife, she lived in Nevada, England, California, Alaska, Kansas, Texas, Maryland, and Washington. Christine’s many interests included bead work, knitting, caring for her beloved cats, Sandra Dee and Chester. She was a member of the Brothers Of The Third Wheel. Including her husband, Junius, Christine is survived by her brother, James Deckard, Jr., of Ketchikan, Alaska; her sister, Wanda Johnson (Jack), of Riverside, California; two nieces, Melissa Crowe (Doug), Tanya Feimer (Kevin); three great nieces, Hailey and Emma Crowe, and Travis Feimer; her father, James Deckard, of Pawhuska, Oklahoma; her mother May Stewart and her husband, Charles, whom she loved as a father, of Independence, Oregon. Christine was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ernest and Dorothy Wilson and Virgil and Fletta Deckard. A private family service will be held. A memorial will be placed at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Christine’s name to: Feline Friends, P.O.
