Obituary of Michael Ross Helsper

Michael Ross Helsper Michael Ross Helsper, 52, passed away September 7, 2011 in Olympia, Washington. He was born February 24, 1959 at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida to Francis W. Helsper II and Claire (Brotzler) Helsper. He married Janet Pilcher on February 20, 1990 in Reno, Nevada. Mike loved being in the woods. He enjoyed hunting, hiking, camping, mushroom picking, practicing with his wrist rocket, watching the Packers, and most of all, swinging with his granddaughter Missy. Professionally, he did a little bit of everything, but he really loved being a Pool Technician in Texas. He also lived for a time in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Mike was a most kind, caring and compassionate man. He so loved being “Uncle Mike” to all of his nieces and nephews. Also, animals were drawn to Mike, and he to them. Mike is survived by his wife, Janet Helsper of Olympia; stepsons, Adam Christopher Showers and Benjamin William Showers, both of Olympia; stepdaughters, Rachael Ann Showers of Olympia and Jennyffer Kathleen McNeely of Shelton; grandchildren, Caleb Anthony William Showers of Shelton and Sophia (Missy) Leigh Sarber of Olympia; brothers, Patrick Helsper of Lacey, WA, Shawn Helsper of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, Timothy Helsper of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Kevin Helsper of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and Christopher Helsper of St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin; sisters, Lynn (Helsper) BeBeau of Ashland, Wisconsin, and Lisa (Helsper) Case of Colorado; and mother, Claire (Brotzler) Helsper. He also is survived by several nieces and nephews: Kara Lunak/ by Kara, great nephew Owen and great niece Ava, David Bolton, Lindsay BeBeau, Jonny BeBeau, Kristi Reffner / by Kristi, great nieces Jasmine and Analisa, great nephew Victor, Larie Reffner/ by Larie, great niece Lily, Elisha Helsper, Shaun N. Helsper , Shane Helsper (wife Kimberly) and great niece Victoria Helsper, Niles Helsper, Jerry Helsper, Tim Case /by Tim, a great-nephew Matthew Case, Katie Case, Hope Case, Gary Case Jr., Julian Helsper, Winslow Helsper, Heather Helsper, Lizzy Helsper, and Levi Helsper. Mike was preceded in death by his father, Francis W. Helsper II.
