My condolences at your loss.
I found an MP3 player in Olympia in August of 2010 registered to Jonathan Hayes. If it belonged originally to the deceased and was passed on to a friend or relative, it seems it may include things meaningful to the living. A brief search left this contact as the only one firmly linking Mr Hayes' name to Olympia.
If anyone is monitoring this guestbook all this time later and can give some description of the player, I would be happy to return it. Please send postal mail with contact info or a description to POB 452, OlyWa 98507

I have many wonderful memories of times with Jon and Evan. Jon was a wonderful father. Before society accepted that a Dad could be as good a parent as a Mom, Jon stayed home with Evan. I admire Jon and Pam for that decision, as I am sure some people did not approve. When Evan and Thomas were in kindergarten, Thomas went home with Evan one day a week, and Evan came home with Thomas on the bus one day a week. The boys had many fun camping adventures and play dates facilitated by Jon and Pam.
I will always remember Jon’s smile, his many skills, and willingness to help. About 15 years ago one of my boys, opened the front door very forcefully leaving a hole in the sheetrock the size of a doorknob. Jon mentioned that his sister had four boys and that this was simple to fix. I am not a handywoman, but Jon told me exactly what to buy, how to prepare the hole, and finish it. It was not perfect, but it definitely blended in with the rest of the wall. It was no longer a noticeable defect.
We all remember the pink cream puffs delivered every February 14th. There are so many other memories. We miss you Jon.
