Obituary of Harold R. Hanson

Harold Ralph Hanson Harold R. Hanson, 83, passed away January 7, 2009 joining his beloved wife, Ordelle, who passed away in July of 2005. He was born June 6, 1925 in Hartford, Connecticut to Harold M. and Hazel E. (Morey) Hanson. On May 11, 1950, he married Ordelle H. Sexauer. Harold retired from the Army and served in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. He worked as a mechanic. To honor veterans who did not finish high school because of enlisting in the service during WWII they had the opportunity to be awarded a high school diploma because of life experience and their service to country. In 2003, from Stadium High School, Harold received his diploma. Beside the state of Washington, Harold lived in Germany, California, Korea, Japan, and New Mexico. Among his interests were, gardening, cooking, and camping. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Harold is survived by two sons; David of Washington and Doug of Shelton; daughter, Christine Palmer of Lacey; brother, Bill of Connecticut; sister, Pat Stroud of Main; also 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 9341 4th Ave. NE, Olympia. A graveside service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Mills & Mills Memorial Park, Tumwater.
