Norma will always be in my heart and mind. I do and will continue to miss her. She has always been an inspiration to me. I Have met, been around, and received help from people she has helped over the last 29 years. The City of Olympia and the World is and will be a better place to live in because of Norma. The message of Gods Love and and Healing she passed on to others is what makes this World a better place to live. May God Bless all of Normas Family and Friends. With Love, Paul

Norma's parents, Bill and Olive Gustafson, came to this country with my grandparents, Jack and Alina Jackson -- Bill and my Grandpa Jackson formed the Olympia Veneer Company with other Finns. I'd be safe to say that we were somehow related (perhaps 3rd cousins?) I am sorry that I was not in touch often with Norma after my mother, Swea Jackson McArthur, passed away in 1997. But Norma will always hold a special place in my heart. Yes, those "Finnish Genes" are strong. I know -- after fighting cancer twice, I have been in remission for 3 years. May you all feel God's arms around you . . mine are. God Bless.

Norma was a wonderful person. She came into my mother's life years ago and helped her struggle through some very tough times. Norma stood as a role model for my mom & was never to busy to be there for her whenever asked. She visited my mom when she was sick, up until she passed away 1/8/04. I know that now they are together continueing their friendship in heaven. I am very thankful Norma came into my mother's life. I wish I had known her better.

I'm sorry for your loss...I met Norma at the YMCA in the Polar club, she was such a nice person and I didn't know her long but she made everyone feel great. I'm only sorry I didn't get to know her better.
She'll be missed by many...my heart goes out to all of her family.

I will miss the time spent around the table in Normas' kitchen. The cookies, coffee, and talk will always be remembered. She impacted me greatly and I will miss her dearly. I hope to never lose my marble, nor the memories of her. I will never forget her telling me (as she outlapped me at the pool at the YMCA) that I could eventually do as many laps as her.... just keep it up 1 lap at a time!.... May God bless all her family in friends at this time. She was a wonderful example in life.

Norma was such a loving and caring lady! I am so glad I was able to know her since 1967! She was extra special to my parents: CARL and MABEL MALYSZ and was so positive and helpful when they went through many rough roads in life! We enjoyed talking with her and spending quality time with her - especially in her warm loving home!
My loving thoughts and prayers are with all her family and friends as we realize we have lost a wonderful person. NORMA, we will all miss your loving ways!

Norma was a great friend to all of our family. She graduated from OHS with my mother, Winifred Sanders (Crawford) and went to school with my mother-in-law, Violet Lenhart (McCormack).
My wife and I have been involved with her caring and loving manner during the last 11 years. One day at her kitchen table, she handed me a blue marble, along with a cookie, and said, "I want to give you one of your marbles back". Years of alcohol addiction had taken away the ones God had given me. I keep that marble with me all the time. I phoned her a couple of weeks ago and during our conversation she said that she thought I deserved another marble. This was a great complement. Norma will always be in our hearts and minds.

Norma is the friend who loves me as I am. Whenever I'm caught in one of life's urgent, chaotic, harebrained dilemmas, my heart recalls Norma's earthy: "Well, Either It Will or It Won't" and I'm chided that it's not really up to me. I love Norma's hugs, holding hands, munching cookies at her kitchen table and always will. Thanks, lj

I am so grateful to have gotten a chance to get to know Norma and to have gotten my marble from her. She is an inspiration to me and I can only hope to live up to her example, "one day at a time". Thank you Norma for everything! I miss you.

I will be in Arizona and will not be able to attend Norma's celebration of life on Wednesday. Norma has been such a guiding light in my life. She taught me many things but the one I use the most is the principle that everything happens the way it is supposed to. (Not the way Kay had it planned!)
I will keep Norma in my heart and remember the wonderful times we had down in Seaside, at local events, and those precious hours at her kitchen table. Norma, you are missed and will always be loved.

What an incredible gift of example Norma's life was. My favorite saying was, back to the basic's. I will never forget her kindness and the impact she had on the changes made in my life.

Sweet Heather and LeighAnne, I will always your Grammee and the support (and cookies) she gave to our plays! It was always so great to see her, and really wonderful to see her love and her pride in her wonderful granddaughters. May God bless your family during this time as we remember and celebrate the joyful spirit of your grandmother.

My daughter husband and I became acquainted with Nomma the christmas my daughter and I came to visit my sister Terry Stohl. My daughter was 16 years old. That was one of the most wonderful christmas we had ever spent in our lives. Norma was so friendly and loving she accepted my daughter and I into the family as if we had always been there. My daughter will lovingly remember Norma as Grambo. She put a scarf around her forhead and the childeren called her Grambo. My daughter had a great time and thought of Norma as her grandma too. I returned a couple of years later and my husband was able to come the next trip. Norma and he shared a love for football and sports and they had a great time. We had a wonderful meal at her home and another at my sisters. We sent Norma a Green Bay Packer sweat shirt for christmas the next year and she would always wear it while Green Bay played and write to us and let us know that she was wearing her Green Bay shirt.
Norma had a wonderful spirit and our lives are so enriched by making her aquaintance! My families lives have been blessed and made better by knowing Norma. She was full of life and her love for her family and the importance of family was a testament to how she lived her life. We loved her very much and she will be missed by us. Our love to all the family members. I am reminded of a poem I once read that says lots of people come and go through our lives and they pass through but then there are those who leave their footprints upon our hearts and to me and my family Norma left very deep prints on ours. We will miss her.
We love all of you,
Karen,Larry, Anna and Meredith
