Obituary of Barbara J. Grindle

Barbara J. Grindle, 73, a 5 year resident of Tumwater, died Saturday, October 2, 2004. She was born November 26, 1930 in East St. Louis, Illinois. In 1949, Barbara graduated from East St. Louis High School. On January 9, 1953, in St. Louis, she married George M. “Max” Grindle, who survives. She worked as a clerical secretary for several businesses and an elementary school. She also worked for several temp services. Prior to living in Tumwater, Barbara lived in Bellville, Pekin, and Morton, all in Illinois. Her hobbies were china painting and reading. She also had memberships in Eastern Star Trinity Chapter #215, White Shrine Malachi, and Capitol Court Amaranth #37. In addition to her husband, Barbara is survived by one son, Robert James Grindle (Cathy), of Issaquah; and one grandson, Michael Grindle (Amanda), of Graham. One sister preceded her in death. A memorial service will be held Sunday, October 24, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Masonic Center, 521 North St. SE, Tumwater. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart Association, American Cancer Society or charity of choice.
