Obituary of Kenneth Griffin

Kenneth Griffin Kenneth Griffin, 80, went to be with the Lord while surrounded by his family at home on November 29, 2011. He was born October 30, 1931, to Bennie and Callie Griffin in Horatio, Arkansas. Ken was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Kenneth served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1952 to 1954. He married Margie Williams of Centralia, Washington, on July 9, 1955. He worked for the El-Dorado Irrigation District in Placerville, California, as a plant manager and for Washington Culvert as a welder/fabricator for many years. After retirement, he took up the art of grandparenting. He leaves behind a legacy of loving and caring for his grandchildren well. He spent many hours watching movies, playing video games, taking adventures outside or in the car, and general spoiling. They were his pride and joy! During his last days, his time was spent with his family and friends (neighbors) by his side. His sense of humor continued and his love of the Lord shined through his circumstance. He is survived by his wife, Margie Griffin; sons, Gary (Theresa) Griffin, Alvin (Jan) Griffin, and Gaylen (Wendy) Griffin; daughter, Melody (Keith) Porter; grandkids, Marie, John, and Kendra Griffin; Kelsey Yount; Madison and Carson Porter; Bryce and Braelyn Weatherbie; Jerry (Pam), Michelle, and Felice Schlottman; and great grandchild, Loralei Fields. A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 4, 2011 at South Sound Manor, 455 North St SE, Tumwater, WA 98501. A private interment will be in the Grand Mound Cemetery, Tenino.
