Obituary of Thomas E. Gratzer

None Thomas E. Gratzer On October 30, 2011 Thomas passed away in Olympia, WA. He was born December 28, 1923 in Tacoma, WA to Louis and Hazel (Willert) Gratzer. Thomas was a lifelong resident in the Seattle, Tacoma and Olympia area. He graduated from Bellarmine High School, Tacoma in 1941. He married Ida (Moser) Gratzer on May 17 1942 at Visitation Catholic Church in Tacoma. Ida preceded him in death December 13, 2010. He served with the Army Air Force from March 1943 to December 1945 in the North African theatre. He worked for Washington State from 1977 until retiring January 1989, prior to that he was manger of Hyak Millwork in Olympia and W. P. Fuller, Sash & Door Division in Tacoma and Seattle. Thomas enjoyed Family functions, travel, football, fishing, keno, woodworking and astronomy. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Lacey and Elks Lodge of Olympia. Mr. Gratzer is survived by his son Thomas W. Gratzer of Gig Harbor, WA; Wanda Cahill and Wendy Jones, both of Olympia, 2 brothers Bernie Gratzer of Seattle and Richard Gratzer of Tacoma; 2 grandchildren Kimberly Gratzer, Jennifer Schneider-Rowe, 6 great grandchildren Alicia McClurg, Nicholas Schneider, Geneva Schneider, Jessica Schneider, Kaitlin Schneider Corey Gratzer and 1 great-great grandchild David McClurg,III.
