Dad, it isn't how you died, but how you lived your life that mattered. You gave me the strength, courage and self-confidence to overcome every obstacle in my life. For this I will always love you, your oldest daughter

Grandpa I could never have asked for a better person to be apart of my life. My memories of you are the best I've got and will probablly ever have. You were such an inspiration to me and I believe you had a big part to do with who I am today. You are among the few who have whole heartedly supported my choice of a career and i could never begin to explain how much that means, there isn't big enough words. I will never forget you and all our time spent together. I hope some day i will get to see as much of this beautiful country as you have. Love always your grandson

Great-Grandpa I will miss you so much, and I love you so much more than words can say. You taught me so many important lessons about life, I never knew I could miss you so much, it was diffucult to talk to you and to visit you in Puget Sound Healthcare for the last 2 months you were alive, but I know you were miserable when you lost eyesight. What I enjoyed most was talking to him he was somewhat a good listener, but you have to admit when it came to candy we were already there. Again I'm going to miss you,but I know you're in a better place where you can be out of your pain.Love for ever Kayla.

John was our friend, mentor, and neighbor for nearly 20 years. His love of life, people, and nature was infectious. We are grateful for having known his hospitality and spirited conversations, his knowledge of history of this Satsop River area, Seattle, and the Cascades, and his unfailing and supportive friendship. He is greatly missed.
with love and affection,
Kerry & Darrell

My dearest Grandpa.....Thank you so much for making my childhood so memorable. I lived for summers to come so I could stay with you and Grandma at the cabin. As an adult I've enjoyed taking my daughter and family to the Satsop River. You have been one of the prime role models in my life and I will miss you very much. I know the last few years of your life was difficult and I feel priviledged to help take care of you. Thank you for all the wonderful and unforgettable memories. I love you.
Love, Angie
