I was sadden with the news of Mr. Gimberg's passing. I knew him back in the mid to late sixties in Puyallup. He was an honorable gentleman who was a credit to his family, employers, and community. I worked at Safeway in Puyallup and would have to make trips to Citizen's State Bank with thousands of dollars in deposits. Mr. Gimberg would see that our transactions were processed with swiftness which we really appreciated and I would listen to customers remarking about his excellent service and professionalism. The Gimbergs were members ofThe First Presbyterian Church of Puyallup and our 9th grade sunday school class held a " Slave" auction as a fund raiser for the church school. Mr. Gimberg "bought" me and I spent a day doing yard work for him at his house. He was a gentle task master , did not work me too hard, and I had the pleasure of being served lunch by Maureen. They say that the way to judge the worth of a man's life is to look into the lives of his children. I went to junior and senior high school with Maureen and knew her sister/ brother for a brief time. I can say without reservation that Maureen was one of the sweetest, kindest, thoughtful, polite ( and one of the prettiest ) girls that I met in both schools. I know that Mr. Gimberg was, and is still very proud of how his children grew up. He instilled a set of moral values that is seldom seen now days. How refreshing! I will miss his smile which lit up any room he was in. I know that we can be comforted in the fact that he is now with our lord and that he is now beyond all pain or suffering. I wish to offer my condolences to the Gimberg Family for their loss and Pray that we try to dedicate our lives to be as worthy of an entrance into Heaven like that of Mr. Gimberg. God Bless.
