Obituary of Josephine Margaret Gillion

Josephine Margaret Gillion “Josie” passed away peacefully Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006 at age 86 surrounded by her family following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born June 4, 1920 and lived all her life in the Greater Seattle area. She attended Mt. Virgin Catholic grade school and later was married there in 1938. She retired (18 years) from the Oberto Sausage Co. in 1982. She was an avid bingo player, but most of all enjoyed watching baseball, from her son-in-law and grandsons playing and coaching to the Seattle Mariners. Grandma never missed a game. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband “Gil” to whom she was married for 50+ years; her sister, Nancy, and brothers, John and Ernie Pinto. She is survived by her daughter, Valerie Schmidt; son-in-law, Richard; grandsons, Mark and David; brothers, Geno and Fred Pinto; and numerous caring nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, Oct. 13, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Anthony’s Catholic Church, 314 S. 4th in Renton. Reception to follow in the church hall.
