Obituary of Colin Gill

Colin “Barney” Gill Colin “Barney” Gill passed away on July 14, 2010, at his home in Lacey WA. He was 90-years old. He was one of eleven children born to Don and Elsie Gill. Barney was a World War II veteran and a lifetime member of the Aberdeen Elks. He owned Six J’s Automotive in Aberdeen prior to his retirement. The 6-J’s signifies the first initial for each his six children. A daughter Jeanette and a son John preceded him in death. He is survived by three daughters and a son; Jeanne Marsden of Olympia, Jo Ann Gill of Aberdeen, Juanita (Herb) Vaughn of Montesano, and Jay Timothy (Anne) of Lake Bay. Three brothers Chet of Tumwater, Ken of Anderson CA, John of Shelton, and a sister Mary Steinman of Bainbridge Island. Several grandchildren, great-grand children, nieces, and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at Light & Life Community Church in Hoquiam WA at 11am with his nephew, Brad Gill officiating. Cremation services are entrusted with Funeral Alternatives of Tumwater WA. A military burial service is being arranged with the Tahoma National Veteran’s cemetery in Kent WA at a future date.
