Obituary of Juan Manuel Garcia

Juan Manuel Garcia, 70, a 5 year resident of Chehalis, WA passed away at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, WA on November 9, 2009. Manuel or ‘Me-Me’, as his family called him, was born on June 26, 1939 in Falfurrias, TX to Manuel and Sobeida Garcia. He graduated from Falfurrias High School with the Class of 1959 and served in the U.S. Air Force for 8 years during the Vietnam Era. He later moved to Tacoma and retired from the City of Tacoma where he worked for Waste Management.He loved playing guitar, accordion and singing with family and friends. He also loved walking, going for his morning coffee at McDonald’s. Manuel was an avid Cowboys, Longhorns and WF West Bearcat fan, where he attended many sports games and also loved to watch his daughters and grandchildren play sports, and he loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was also a member of the VFW. Manuel was everyone’s friend, always willing to lend a helping hand. He was known as Grandpa Garcia to the younger crowd and Me-Me to his brothers and sisters. He always told great jokes. Surviving Manuel are his daughter Tina of Chehalis, and grandchildren James and Sonny; daughter Kari (Randy) of Chehalis and grandchildren, Bre, Lexi, Averi and one on the way; and 2 brothers Alberto and Jesus.
