Obituary of Carol Sue Franzen

Carol Sue Franzen, 68, passed away November 16, 2010, in Olympia, where she had resided for 48 years. Born August 27, 1942, in Port Gamble, WA, to Rubye and Wesley Stansbury, Carol Sue graduated from West Bremerton High School in 1960 and attended Western Washington University, where she met her husband, Woody. They were married August 31, 1962, in Bremerton, WA. She worked as a para-educator in the North Thurston Public Schools, at South Bay and Mountain View Elementaries. Carol Sue has left behind her husband of 48 years, Woody; daughters Kristy (Paul) Delashaw and Kara (Derek) Smith; and grandchildren Kelsey, Heidi & Luke Delashaw, and Sydney, Brooklyn, & Delaney Smith. As a wife, mother, grandmother, friend and teacher, she was always kind, gentle and gracious in all of her relationships with others. The central focus of her living was not on herself, but her family and especially her grandchildren. Carol Sue’s love for others was shown through her unending giving and generosity. She will not only be missed by her family, but by many, many others whose lives she touched. Her radiant smile will be remembered and cherished by many.
