Oh how I miss you. This Christmas was for some reason more difficult than the last. Bill and I would tear up at all the Christmas shows and worse yet we seem to poke fun privately at all the Santa Clauses. There is not and will not be another person like you. I miss and love you. Until we meet in heaven!

Mike was a valued employee of the Olympia Parks, Arts and Recreation Department. He always greeted park users with a smile and a helpful spirit. It was a joy to see him in "retirement" at the Senior Center, making others smile with his enthusiasm and love of life. We are all blessed to have known Mike in our walk on this Earth. Fondly, Jane

The picture of Mike is wonderful. I worked with Mike at WOW and enjoyed his company. He was a gentleman and a hard worker for Wrinkles. I have moved away from Olympia, but my heart and memories are with and of old friends there. May God ease your sorrow each and every day.

REMEMBERING MIKE
Mike was one of those guys that everyone liked! He had a great sense of humor, a wonderful singing voice, a wonderful wife, and knew how to get things done. And, get things done he did....
When we moved to our home in Poulsbo, we didn’t want anyone to really know where it was. It needed major renovation and, to be honest, we were a little embarrassed we had actually purchased such a run-down house! Well, lo and behold, when we were working on the place Mike and Jackie found us and decided to stay a while and help us with the “project.” We had a small, old, run-down rider lawnmower and, since the lawn had not been mowed for who knows how long, Mike started the thing up and mowed, mowed and mowed for almost three days! Also, the shower/tub on the main floor was not usable, but Mike found the shower plumbed in the basement, proceeded to make a pallet for us to stand on and, we had ourselves a makeshift but very usable shower. Most significantly, though, both Jackie and Mike were there giving of themselves unconditionally, cheering us up when we tired and keeping us company. Like we said, the house then was a disaster. It was wonderful to have friends like Mike and Jackie to pitch in with us, soothed our nerves and made us laugh. Also, the time spent after a hard day’s work was wonderful and satisfying –-seeing Mike and Dan sleeping in the living room, both snoring, as Jackie and Donna smiled on the progress made that day and sipped a cup of tea. Those were wonderful and precious times, yet only begin to describe the many, many great times we had with Mike and Jackie.
Mike had many hobbies –- one of them was building things. Mike’s shop was big and organized. His materials were some salvaged and neat; Mike was not a waster of goods! He shared generously with us, as we are sure he did to all his friends – his talent for building was superb! Mike taught Dan how to shape hardwood, how to craft those special parts for boats and to appreciate the beauty of wood. And, again, true to his form, Mike finished his sailboat and then took swimming lessons.
Mike was always full of stories and surprises. His life was colorful and he lived it with integrity, understanding and joy. He loved people, places and singing. He had a wonderful voice and was not shy about using it, praise the Lord! He was always the “Life of the Party”, yet had a very caring nature about those he entertained with his voice and Santa skills. We remember when he got his own Santa suit and how proud he was to don this -– Playing (was it?) Santa was something he loved to do.
Mike was more than a close friend to Dan; he left an impression of his compassion, love and humor that will always be with him. Mike was a lover of life. He was a good man, a common man, an exceptional man and a steadfast man all in one -- he was very comfortable in his own skin.
We will always remember Mike and smile. We will always love him. We rest assured he is in a better place and, at the same time feel sorry for ourselves for not having him around us ever again. Thank God for making Mike and sharing him with the world -- we were lucky to have been a part of it.
REST IN PEACE AND COMFORT, MIKE.
NOW YOU CAN SING WITH THE ANGELS!

Every so often, a truly memorable person comes into our presence. And when they leave, they leave a hole. And so it is with Mike - the man, the classic Santa, or the leprechaun. Thanks for stopping by, Mike. You enriched our lives and made us happier!

I am really going to miss Mike. He was such a sweet, wonderful man who contributed so much to the community. He ALWAYS had a smile for everyone, and had such a positive attitude and outlook on life. I was blessed to have known him for the short time that I did. My prayers go out to Jackie, Marlene, Megan, Robert, Rick, all the rest of his friends and family, and all those who will miss him.

I was saddened to read that Mike had passed away. He will be missed by all at our next family reunion (our 14th) that is held at Christmas time. Our little ones loved him; especially when he allowed them to pull on his real beard as he distributed presents to them. He had a beautiful voice and it was a joy to listen to him sing in Italian for us. It will be difficult to replace him. Our deepest sympathies to his wife, Jackie, and all of his family.

Mike you will be forever missed, we are so happy to have had the opportunity to know you. What a wonderful person to give so much of himself to all of the community events, charities, etc, and still keep a smile on your face, a twinkle in your eye and a positive attitude. You were an inspiration to me and my family. We will always remember in our hearts the best Christmas Santa Claus there ever was in South Sound! God rest your soul! God Bless all your family.
