Obituary of Ralph Edwin Finely

RALPH EDWIN FINELY Ralph Finely was born in Anacortes, Washington, January 24, 1927, to Victor and Kathleen Finely. He attended Fidalgo Grade School, Anacortes Junior High and Anacortes High School, graduating with the class of 1944. He served in the Army of the United States before enrolling in the University of Washington in the fall of 1947. At the University he met Jean Lockwood, who became his wife in 1953. They both were graduated with Bachelors degrees in 1951. His first post-college job was with Pacific Northern Airlines in Seattle. Later, he returned to the UW, receiving an MBA in 1961. Ralph worked at the Boeing Company several years before coming to Olympia in 1964. He was employed by the State of Washington Office of Financial Management until he took early retirement in 1982. Ralph died at Roo-lan Healthcare on October 22, 2008. He is survived by his wife, Jean, and by two sons; Michael of McKenna and Peter of Snoqualmie Pass. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Thelma McCrea. No formal services are planned. A Celebration of Life for Ralph will be announced at a later time.
