Obituary of Marjorie Field

No visitation is being held Marjorie “Marge” Field passed away Saturday November 18th, 2006 at her home in Shelton, Washington. She was born in Sanger, California March 9th, 1921 to Manley and Lela (Silkwood) Stewart. She also had a brother Gerald Stewart who preceded her in death. Marge lived in Reno, Nevada and Whittier, California as a child but spent most of her life in Stockton, California where she attended Stockton schools and where she met her best friend Mildred “Fern” Field. Mildred introduced Marge to her brother Elmer Field and their friendship grew. On October 7, 1940 Marge and Elmer were married in Reno, Nevada. Marge and Elmer had 5 children and lived on Ridge Tract Island in Stockton, California for 13 years, where they raised their family and enjoyed many years of family gatherings with friends from all around. Elmer preceded Marge in death in 1977. Marge raised Labrador Retrievers and loved all animals large and small, especially Charlie & Oliver. Marge had a real love for the beauty of nature. She collected stamps, sewed clothes, crocheted many afghans for her kids and grandkids, canned, enjoyed fishing, and she was a real artist when it came to painting and decorating. She enjoyed making ceramics, many of her family and friends are recipients of her ceramic talents, she planted many vegetable, rose and flower gardens through out her life. She also did a lot of baby sitting. Most of all she enjoyed her kids and grandkids. In 1991 Marge moved away from Stockton to Valley Springs, California, and then to San Andreas, California. In the summer of 2004 she moved to Shelton, Washington. Marge is survived by her sister-in-laws, Mildred “Fern” Grimmett and Eva Stewart; her son, Ray Field of Shelton, Washington; her four daughters, Vickie Gallego and her husband Craig Gallego of Stockton, California, Rebecca Tate and her husband Mark Tate of Elk Grove, California, Kathy Carpenter and her husband Troy Carpenter of Valley Springs, California, and Michelle “Mitch” Ritchie and her husband Ron Ritchie of Shelton, Washington. Marge also has 12 grandchildren, Melissa Baenen, Kristin Peerson, Adam Field, Luke Field, Nicole Lognion, Amos Tate, Hadassah Tate, Amanda Eberhardt, Scott Eberhardt, Jacob Carpenter, Megan Ritchie, and Mason Ritchie, 2 great grandchildren Chandler & Zachary Lognion and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Sunday December 10th, 2006 at 3pm at the Barbara Morse Wackford Community Center, Poppy Room, 9014 Bruceville Road, Elk Grove, California, 95758.
