Obituary of LeRoy Roger Erickson

LeRoy Roger Erickson LeRoy, 72, passed away January 28, 2012 in Centralia, Washington. The son of Grace Erickson, he was born May 17, 1939 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He served in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1961, and was stationed at Ft. Lewis. He married Margaret Van Quaethem on October 12, 1979 in Tenino, Washington. Professionally, he worked for the City of Chehalis, was a taxi driver, bus driver for Olympia School District, and janitor for the Tenino School District, where he met his future wife, Margaret. LeRoy loved talking to people, whether he knew them or not. He enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, John Wayne movies, and especially cooking at the family 4th of July picnic. LeRoy is survived by his wife; sons, Andy Van Quaethem, Brian Van Quaethem and David Erickson, all of Tenino; daughter, Cheryl Brownfield of Shelton, Washington; four grandchildren, Jessica Towns, Tara Mae Brownfield, Paul Brownfield, and Christopher Van Quaethem; special aunt, Ruth Tenold of Minneapolis; and best friend, Harold Ahnold of Centralia. A celebration of life is scheduled for Saturday, February 11, 2012, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 655 Garfield Avenue in Tenino.
