Peggy, I was so shocked to see where Clark passed away and I was unable to attend his service today. He was such a nice man with always a big smile and so very nice to be around. I didn't reealize he had been sick or that you had moved. My prayers and thoughts are with you at this time!

To Peggy and the family of Clark Erdman,
Marilyn and I wish to offer our sincere sympathy to all in the passing of Clark. I have known Clark and the Erdman family for many years and had the opportunity to work with Clark at Walla Walla High School. Clark was an outstanding leader of our custodial staff and instrumental in maintaining the beauty and cleanliness of our high school campus. There was no task that was too large for him to achieve which he did with dedication, sincerity and expertise. Though the curtain has fallen on this outstanding person the many lives he has touched will be better folks for having had the experience of knowing Clark Erdman.

Uncle Clark was a great man and was so kind to each of us kids. I always loved seeing him and remember how proud he was of my service in the Army. I will always remember Uncle Clark as the life of the party. Susan and I send our sincere condolences to Aunt Sharon and the entire family. We will all miss this great patriot and honorable man.

To the family and friends of Clark Dean Erdman.
I have fond memories of Clark and our years at Paine School and at PiHi Jr HS in Walla Walla. Clark lived on Maple Street across from another good friend Bob Zitterkopf (class of1957) and his sister Gloria (class of 1956). I lived one block over on Malcolm Street.
I remember once when we were on the same Pony league baseball team. We weren’t very good as wins and losses went but I remember we had fun. Clark was one of our better players maybe because his was bigger than most of us. I on the other hand was smaller than everyone else. I remember the time when we were behind in the 9th inning with a couple of base runners on. Clark was up and I was next . The other team decided to walk Clark to get to me. Their proposed ball four was high and outside and Clark just reached out and gave it a whack into right center field scoring one or two runs – enough to win the game anyway. The other team never got to me, thankfully. We went home happy with our only win of the season.
Another time in Jr High, Principle Blake selected Clark and I to serve as park monitors to report students who might cut through Central Park at lunch time or who might go there to sneak a smoke. Clark and I would sit on the railing of one of the small bridges to the island at the north end of the lake. We brought grapes in our lunch to feed the ducks as we thought it was neat to watch the grape as it slid on it’s twisting route down the ducks throat. We also never reported smokers as we were taking the opportunity to experiment with cigs ourselves. Thankfully we neither one made it a lifetime habit.
Another time while on the Creek clean up crew at PiHi we came across a large snake (perhaps a bull snake) Everyone was scared except Clark who reached down and picked it up by the tail and after demonstrating the snakes obvious harmlessness gave it a fling downstream and out of the cleanup area.
After High School I moved away from Walla Walla and only saw my very good friend a few times during the next 50 years, but I will always have my good memories of our friendship growing up in Walla Walla.
