Marge was a wonderful friend to both my in-laws during the years she was married to Ernie Engler. Ernie and my father-in-law were best friends from the age of four. From the time he married Marge, she was a devoted friend to both; however a true "woman friend" to our mother. Mom cherished their friendship. Once Marge moved to Washington to be near her son, she and Mom would take turns calling one another every Saturday morning. How our Mom looked forward to those calls! A wonderful woman--a true, loyal friend. Even after Mom passed away, Marge kept in touch with our Dad, until his Alzheimer's didn't allow him to know her any longer. Tom and I had the pleasure of visiting Marge in Olympia a few years back and meeting her son and wife. She was proud of her family and especially fond of her grand-children. Her devotion and kindness to my in-laws is what I am grateful for and how I will remember her.

Because our family has been so darn small (both of my parents were only children) I've always loved the fact that Marge and my mom were so close.
Marge was kind of the sister mother never had.
She was a wonderful woman. We both miss her a lot.

My friendship with Marge started with a grass fight and we both ran home crying.
We were both four years old and were the closest of friends the rest of our lives. That was 89 years.
When we were kids, we played baseball, kick the can, climbed trees and played mumbly-peg and saw every movie Mae West ever made.
Through the years we've always remained friends.
I will miss her terribly (she's always been there for me), but luckily, for me, I have a good enough memory to last me for the rest of my life.
P.S. In grade school Marge and I both wore red tams and our teacher, realizing how close we were, mentioned that once we left school we'd probably never see each other again.
Ha!

Dear Marge, the world has changed now that you have left us and this worldly place. May all those who loved you receive the grace of comfort during this difficult time and may the celebration of your gifted life of kindness and faithfulness be an inspiration to all of us.
