Obituary of George Sherman Elliott

George, a 40 year resident of Lacey, Washington went home to his Lord on July 19th, 2010. He was born in Monticello, Minnesota to Earl and Louise Elliott on May 6th, 1931. He served his country by enlisting in the United States Army in 1948 with tours of duty in Japan, Europe, Korea, and Viet Nam. He was a Purple Heart and Bronze Star recipient and retired from the military in 1970 as a Sergeant First Class.George attended Centralia Community College and graduated from City College with a degree in Psychology in 1982. He served as a youth counselor at the Greenhill School in Chehalis and owned and managed residential properties. His life was marked by a strong work ethic, service to and care for others, kindness, patience, and gentleness. He found joy and peace in gardening, fishing, and being outdoors. He is survived by his wife Sharon, sons Ed and Ray, daughters Kathy, Chris, and Betty, brothers Russ and Bill and sisters Carol and Mary.
