Obituary of Maurice Vincent Eisenman

Maurice Vincent “Morry” Eisenman Morry Eisenman, born November 19, 1923 in Grand Prairie, Alberta, Canada to Elmer and Winifred Eisenman, passed away peacefully at home on April 15, 2012. Morry was three months old when his family moved to Everett, Washington. He attended Lowell and Everett schools. When he was in his early teens, he worked for the Conservation Corp on Orcas Island and as Seaman in the Merchant Marines for Alaska Standard. When World War II broke out, Morry was 17 years old. He volunteered for service as a U.S. Marine and served three years, primarily in the South Pacific with the Third Battalion, 21st Marines, Third Marine Division as a Demolition Specialist, and with the Marine Raiders. Morry had been a life-long member of the VFW and was most recently attached to VFW Post 318, Olympia. On June 12, 1945 in Seattle, Washington, Morry married his sweetheart, Leona Goldade. Later in 1945 after being honorably discharged as a USMC Sergeant, Morry and Leona returned to Everett where he would build their first home and begin raising a family with his wife, Leona. Morry worked for Everett Pulp & Paper (later Simpson Lee Paper Company) for 31 years. When Simpson Lee closed their plant in Everett, Morry and five other men helped start up Everett Pad & Paper. In 1978, Morry went to work for Puget Power (now Puget Sound Energy) in Olympia, Washington, from which he retired in 1988. Morry loved to hunt, fish and work in the garden, and he loved his family. He always enjoyed and appreciated seeing his life-long friends, family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Morry was preceded in death by both of his parents; his daughter, Margaret (Marji) Eisenman; grandson, Scott Shepherd; four brothers, John (Alice), Doug (Dale), Gilbert (Joy) Eisenman, Bill (Isabelle) Larson; and sister, Lelia Mae (George) Eylander. Morry is survived by his wife Leona, whom he was faithfully devoted to for nearly 67 years. He is also survived by his two sons, David (Vicki) and Joe Eisenman; five daughters, Lynn (Mike) Nelson, Maureen Ropp, Suzanne (Craig) Thorne, Christine and Kathleen Eisenman; 12 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Alice (John) and Joy (Gil) Eisenman; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Cremation will be arranged by Funeral Alternatives. Morry will be laid to rest with honors at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington.
