Paulette - Kathleen and I lost touch with you and Del and our friends Tom and Linda May many, many years ago. We saw the website regarding Martha, which made us think of you guys. We are sorry to hear of Del's passing. It was so nice of both of you to come to our wedding almost 26 years ago now. We have fond memories of both you and Del. God bless.

Paulette. It is now time to sail solo. We know Del prepared you for that. When I go to Croatia to sail with my buddies on Sept. 14/07. I will take with me those sailing stories that Del and I shared. I will always remember our many months together in Contract Negotiations in 1996. That was the period that Del and myself really hit it off with all of the things we had in common, and the need to help our Union and it's members move in the right direction. I took his spirit with me to the two car shows that I went to this weekend. Del's cars and trucks are still the coolest! My respect for Del and his views on life will stay with me forever. I hope he will come and talk to me once in a while and make me finish my two current car restorations. Much love and respect from the Tuck's in San Pedro, CA. We will miss you Del.......

I enjoyed working with Del at the Port of Olympia during my time there. Del possessed a wonderful blend of professionalism, pleasantness and a warm sense of humor. He not only looked out for the best interests of the Longshore, but also the best interests of the Port to be a successful enterprise. Del will be missed.

I was saddened to see the obituary of Del’s passing in yesterday paper. Please extend my sincerest regrets to your family, Iam so sorry for your loss.
I have to tell you, I thought of Del as my hero. I always thought he was one of the coolest guys I knew. It was always a pleasure to see him at the Spar and I always spent a few minutes chewing the fat with him. I just wished I had gotten to know him better.
Again, just so you know, I thought the world of him; he was just a way cool guy.

It was truly an honor and pleasure to have known Skipper. His and Paulette's love of life is truly amazing and a wonderful blessing for those fortunate to have experienced it. I can only imagine what life would be for all of us if we encompassed their passion for life and in living life. Both Skipper and Paulette have made and will continue to be inspiration to us. We love you Paulette and are here for you always.

Paulette, my condolences to you.
My wonderful memories of Del are many but the one that stands out the most was sailing together racing to Hawaii. Del and I spent many evenings sitting on the deck talking over world problems, life experiences, and thinking of the future. We talked about teaching and his thoughts of getting back into the profession. It was a pleasure to see Del pursue his desire and begin teaching while travel the world. Del could always figure out a way to achieve his desires and dreams. I admire his tenacity and ability to accomplish tasks with creativity and passion. Del always worked hard and pursued life with gusto while leading by example. I feel privaleged to have had the opportunity to have Del as a friend.
I believe that Del will have nothing but great adventures and sailing experineces in the next life. Del will be missed.
