Obituary of Peter Ronald Durham

Peter Ronald Durham Pete Durham, 60, of Montesano passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Community Hospital. He was born January 27, 1951 in Aberdeen to Richard and Amelia (Molly) Durham. Pete attended high school in Monte. Prior to his senior year, he left school to enlist in the Army and volunteered to serve in the Vietnam War. Upon his return, he married Jackie Koch. They were married 16 years and had four children. Pete worked as a logger, log truck driver, carpenter, and heavy equipment operator. Afer the shutdown of the Satsop Power Plant in 1996, Pete attended Grays Harbor College and earned a degree in Watershed Resteration. Pete is survived by his mother, Molly of Montesano; sister, Sarah (Doug) Wisdom of Montesano; sons, Justin, Brandon, and Trevin, all of Montesano; daughter, Chelsey (Ryan) Troy of Olympia; and two grandsons, Kipton and Kaleb Troy of Olympia. A celebration of life will be held at the Montesano Moose Lodge, Saturday, January 21, 2012 starting at 3:00 p.m. Pete loved his Rainier beer so his children request you show up thirsty!
