Dear Linda,
I was saddened to hear of Henry's death. I knew Henry in Hillsdale and as I was planning on going to Cleveland to work on voter protection for the coming election I decided to Google Henry to see if he was still in the area. Instead of contact info I got his obituary. I am truly sorry. He was a wonderful young man and his sense of humor was infectious. I only wish that I had not waited so long.

We were out of the country and heard of Henry's death upon our return. We mourn the loss of such a talented, energetic and resourceful man who was so dedicated to his patients and his family. In addition to medicine, we've always shared a common bond because of our Ohio roots.
Henry would have enjoyed more time to pursue his passions with his family when he retired and, sorrowfully, will not have this opportunity, but he leaves a strong and vivid memory to all those who knew him.
We will miss him and send our love to Linda and the family.

Holly and I were quite surprised and saddened to hear of Henry’s sudden passing. We felt fortunate to have run into him at the grocery store about a month ago and to have had a chance to enjoy a good chat and get caught up on his activities and family.
Henry and I came to Olympia at about the same time and experienced together the growth of the new medical community. It was an exciting time and it was fun to work together to help update the growing ob department. Henry was always at the forefront in adopting new operative techniques and modernizing the labor and delivery suite.
I found a ready partner in exploring the mystery of Apple computers. Henry would enthusiaticaly help me through the tough spots in the Wizardry game and we had a friendly competition to see who could solve the puzzles first. He help me explore the new fangled device called a modem and link up to the internet. We spent hours setting up an early bulletin board so we could exchange emails. There was no end to his enthusiasm and inquisitiveness. His sense of humor, hearty laughter and willingness to share a good story will be my fondest memory. Let us toast to Henry and his joy of life.
Our heartfelt sympathy and remembrance.

Dearest Linda, Meg, and Jon
My Mom, brothers, and sisters and their families are devastated at the loss of Uncle Henry. We will miss him dearly and will pray for him and for you as you celebrate his life. We are better for knowing him and so lucky for having him touch our lives. My family just keeps talking about how he took pictures at the wedding and put them on the website so quickly. He was one of most genuine people, I know, and reading the messages confirms that. We will see you soon.
Love,

Henry Drygas delivered both of our daughters (Alex 5/07 and Peyton 7/08). During all of my appointments he spoke of his family with love and pride. Most recently he was telling me of Megan's job with Bill Williams and an upcoming cruise he was planning. He also spoke of excitement about a trip to China next year. He was so much fun at my OB appointments that my husband never wanted to miss one. Both of my daughters were breach and Henry actually cut Peyton on the foot! He had laughingly said beforehand that he had not done that in many, many years and said afterward that's what he got for bragging. My husband and I were very saddened to learn about his sudden passing and wanted you to know how he touched our lives. We feel we are better for having known him even in such a limited way. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Marc & Debbie Defreyn

I was just devastated to hear about Henry's passing. He had not been my doc for long, but I liked him instantly. He was honest, never patronizing and had the supreme gift of being a terrific professional and still an accessible human being. We found we had a patient of his in common--someone whose loss had wounded us both. He showed me his gorgeous translator gadget and his delight was so pure and childlike. He was, simply, a wonderful man who deserved more time. I, who knew him so little, am feeling his loss. I can only, from my own past losses, imagine yours.

I was stunned and deeply saddened when I learned of the unexpected death of Dr. Drygas, my doctor of 30 years. He helped me through the many milestones that a person goes through in life and always took time, no matter how busy, to listen to my concerns and answer my questions no matter how trivial.
He had the gift of making people feel better just by being in his presence and I never left his office without having had some great discussions or a laugh or two.
It is with a heavy heart that I offer you my sincere, heartfelt sympathy. His passing has left a huge void that can never be filled.

We were so saddened to hear the news that Dr. Drygas had passed away last week. He wasn't our primary Doctor at Group Health but we did have a few pregnancy appointments with him and then he ended up being the doctor who delivered our baby girl, Kiley as he was on call the night Shelby went into labor. He was such a warm-hearted and gentle speaking man....he made Shelby feel a sense of relief and comfort in a time of a lot of pain (labor). He was also currently Shelby's sister, Adrienne's doctor for her pregnancy. Adrienne was extremely upset over the news of his passing as she found the same great comfort in him that everyone else has. He will be greatly missed and we THANK him sooooo much for all he did for us. Him and his family are in our prayers.
Love,
Kelly, Shelby & Kiley McMahon

I just wanted to let you know that Dr. Drygas was a wonderful man. When my mom was pregnant with me he was her doctor but didnt deliver me. Then when I had both my daughters I wanted him to be my doctor I thought that would be very neat to have the same doctor. In 2004 when I had my first daughter he was my doctor through the whole thing but didn't deliver her. So when I found out I was pregnant with my daughter who I just had in July I joked with him and said well are you going to deliver her and he laughed. I was going in for my 6 week check today and wanted to show him my daughter on friday the 5th and found out the news I am very sorry for your loss I know he will be missed alot. My families hearts and prayers go out for you.
