Obituary of Marvin Dopps

Marvin Dean Dopps Marvin D. Dopps, 69, a 32-year resident of Lacey, died Wednesday, February 25, 2009, at Providence St. Peter’s Hospital of heart failure. He was born November 21, 1939, to Lloyd and Elsie (Luckenbach) Dopps in Yakima, Wash. He married Susan King on February 23, 1963, in Vancouver, Wash. Mr. Dopps was an auto upholsterer by trade and an active member of Capital Christian Center. His free time consisted of fishing and restoring classic cars. Mr. Dopps was preceded in death by his wife, Susan; and brother, Larry Dopps. He is survived by his brothers and sister; Orville Dopps of California, Melvin Dopps of Yakima, and Sharon Cantu of Yakima; three daughters, Kelly Greaves, Kristy Thurman, and Kimberly Krause all of Lacey; seven grandchildren, Sarah Thurman, Melissa Thurman, Ryan Krause, Catelin Thurman, Ariel Thurman, Michael Krause, and Eden Thurman; and four nephews. A memorial service will begin at 3:00 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2009, at Capital Christian Center, 4441 Martin Way E., Olympia, WA. Memorial donations can be made to the church.
