Obituary of Beverly Diseth

No visitation Beverly was born in Olympia on December 8, 1911. She was the third of three children born to Clyde and Florence Barry. Beverly was a graduate of Olympia High School. Her early career was varied, working for the Olympia School District, the Navy Department in Washington D.C., back to the Olymp ia School District to help set up the first junior high school, then to become the personal secretary of a Washington State Supreme Court Justice. In 1947, Beverly married Ernest Diseth of Tacoma. Moving to Tacoma and then to Dash Point, Beverly began her most noble career, homemaker. She also played a significant community role as P.T.A. President, Community Club President, and chairperson of a variety of community social and charity events. Both Beverly and Ernie spent many hours of volunteer work at Marine View Presbyterian Church. After the passing of Ernie in 1980, Beverly moved back to Olympia to be near her son, grandchildren and other family. Beverly also became active in the life of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Olympia. On February 13, 2007 at the age of 95, Beverly passed away peacefully in her home with family by her side. Beverly is survived by her son, Barry Diseth (Veronica); grandchildren Melissa Hoyt (Heath), Peter Diseth, Hannah Diseth and step-grandson, Adam Latka; great granddaughter, Ashley Diseth and step-great grandchildre; Colton and Jacob Hoyt. A memorial service will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 22, 2007.
