Diana,
I was so sad and shocked to read of Paul's death in the University of Washington Alumni Magazine. Thank you for putting the notice in there. I was deeply touched by Paul's positive attitude and support as I started my dental practice 13 years ago and joined him is Blatchford Study Group. You and Paul were to me the model of a healthy marriage and I always enjoyed my time with both of you. I am so sad that I will not see him again. I promise to not forget him. With Love, Amy Norman

While we are saddened by the departure of Paul from this life we are filled with the joy that we had the pleasure to have known this kind, generous, and sensitive man. Paul was a caring person and always made his patients, friends, and (Rotary) associates feel warm in his presence.
We have been blessed by his presence and will forever cherish his memory.

I would like to say that Paul was one of the most caring and unpretentious persons. He showed so much compassion for everyone and loved his family dearly. We shared many good times on picnics and trips to Baker Lake and Canada when the two DiDonato families got together. I want to thank him for also getting the cousins together to plan for an unforgettable trip to Italy, learning more about our heritage, which made us all a closer family group. After all, when you put 10 cousines and spouses on board a bus for 21 days, what else could happen.
It is hard to realize he has left us so soon. I believe that Heaven is also in our hearts. He has joined us there and we promise to take good care of him and all of our loved ones until it is time to join them.
Much love Paul,
Your cousin Bonnie

My deepest sympathies to the DiDonato family. Paul was truly an inspiration to everyone on how to really care for people. He loved his work and his patients (and they loved him in return). It is an honor for me to be the one to try to fill his shoes, though I am not sure that can ever be done. I am a better person and dentist to have known him. He will be greatly missed. Diana, your strength and care for Paul has been beyond words. God bless you, your family, and Dr. DiDonato.

My condolences to you Diana, and to your family. I knew Paul from the neighborhood, St. George, O'Dea, Seattle U, and a very special three month summer trip to Europe we took between our Jr. and Sr. years in college. As many have said over these last few days... 'He was a good man'. Good men like Paul go to Heaven. Travel well Paul.

Paul was such a wonderful and important part of the lives of so many of us in those heady, fun-filled days of "preparing for the future" at O'Dea so many years ago. Our paths have not crossed much as time has passed, but his memory has always been a cause for smiles and a confidence that "all is well." Safe journey, dear friend. Vaya con dios.

God has taken you from us, but now you at peace with him.
Diana may the love of your memories always be held tight, because that is what keeps you going and makes you strong.

Paul was my best friend in our days at the University of Washington and the Best Man at my wedding in Indiana. At the UW we studied together and sufferred together through chemistry and other tests. (Diane will remember when, more than once, Paul would come out of an exam believing he had just destroyed his whole future. But he knew what his goal was and never lost sight of it.) We worried about girls, and played together at fraternity parties and weekend outings. (We never forgot the fraternity weekend in the San Juans. The Betas were formally declared unwelcome on future Washingtom State Ferry trips.) Of course it was the sixties, and it was special! He was proud to be Italian and enjoyed introducing me to Italian food and wine. His charm never stopped being infectious. It was based on a caring for others and a real appreciation of life. He was a fine man! I will always miss him.

I was sorry to hear of Paul's passing. As a dental school classmate, I had known Paul for many years. I last saw Paul at our Class of 71 reunion the summer of 2006 when a lot of us first learned of his fight against cancer.
Paul was a soft spoken, thoughtful guy...a genuinely nice person. In those stressful years in school, I never saw him express anger. He seemed to always have a smile on his face. Condolences to his family and friends.
