Catherine and Family, I had cut the notice of John's death out of the Times weeks ago and set it aside. I came across it tonight and wanted to let you know how much I appreciated and honored John. KENE, Toppenish and 1965 seem like another century away. John was always the fountain of good advise and encouragement to a young man who wanted to be in radio. His civic involvement was a model to follow and got me into city government here in Lynnwood. I wish I had come to this site and know of John's Funeral Mass. I would have been there to say thank you. Beverly and I will have a Mass said for John here at St. Thomas More. John was a positive influence on so many people. I hope the knowledge of how many of us were grateful for his presence in our lives will be of comfort to you all in the loss of a great husband and father.

Broadcasting lost a wonderful man with the loss of John Di Meo. John hired me in 1975 as chief engineer of KAYO, Seattle. He was a fair and honest manager, and a wonderful boss. I remember nothing but good times while working for him. My condolences to his family.

What a blessing John was to his family and friends! He blessed my life with his great humor, warmth over a good meal, stories of his family (grandkids most often), pictures, email exchanges, and great kindness. He made me feel special. I was sad to know he was ill, and that he had played his last golf game. I will miss him very much. Did I mention that I knew John because he came to the dentist office where I worked? No other patient has ever touched my life the way John did! He was so thankful for his family and friends, and told me so. My spirits always soared after being around John. May God bless you all.

I worked with John for many years and he was a good friend. He told me and Betty Rowley how to start a radio monitor service and that business provided my sole support for many years, thanks entirely to John. He was a good man and I miss him.

When we lose someone we love, our hearts feel an emptiness. Remembering the great times, corny jokes and his love for you all will often temporarily relieve the emptiness in your heart. We are saddened by your family's loss. Hugs to you Peggy, Mike and kids.

I worked for John at KAYO in the 70s. He was a great General Manager, a friend, and someone I think of often. Many of the lessons He taught me as a leader are still apart of my life today. He was "one of a kind", a success story, and my life is better because for a moment in time I worked with him! My tears, my love, my deepest sympathy I share with John's Family. We were saddened to hear of the loss of our friend John. We started our practice in the building that John and Cathy owned on Pacific Avenue in Lacey. John went out of his way to work things out and later gave us the opportunity to buy the building. It could never have happened without his assistance. He was always interested in our family and always asked how everyone was doing, whenever we met. It felt like family.
Thank you John! We will miss your smile and thoughtfulness. We send our love to Cathy and the rest of the family. May God give you peace.

I worked with John when I was in my early 20's. He was a young "father figure" to me. I'm sorry to hear of his passing. The stories he could tell concerning Seattle radio were amazing.
Goodnight John.

My sincere condolences to the Di Meo family. I have warm personal memories of John Sr. 40 years ago he was my coach in Pony League baseball. I was on the mound pitching with John Jr. behind the plate! He was a great coach and role model. He used to call me "Sam"... I never knew why until I read the obituary today.... and realized it was his father's name. That made me smile.
God bless you coach! You were the real deal.
