Geraldine "Gerry" Deschamps Geraldine "Gerry" May Deschamps of Olympia, Washington died at home surrounded by her family on September 25, 2011. She was born in Brady, Nebraska on March 28, 1932 to Phillip and Lida Lemmel. The family moved from Nebraska to Winlock, Washington when she was a toddler. She graduated from Winlock High School in 1950. She married Louis (Louie) Deschamps September 5, 1959 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Olympia. They enjoyed 48 years of marriage. Louie preceded her in death on January 13, 2008. She worked for many years as a medical receptionist for Dr. Richard Grant until her retirement. >/p> Gerry is survived by her daughters, Kathy McDonald (Anne Jordan) of Seattle, and Connie Bergener of Olympia; brother, Jim (Billie) Lemmel of Winlock, WA; sisters, Betty Lyon of Eugene, OR, and June Merklin of Mobile, AL. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Donald Lemmel; and sister, Helen Strong. Two joys of her life were her grandaughters, Briana (Jason) Phillips and Marissa Bergener (Jameson Floyd). Gerry loved to read, cook, garden, and spend time with family. She especially loved her time at the casino with her dear friend, Mary Ann Greenlee.
