Obituary of Thomas Clayton Davis

Thomas Clayton Davis Thomas Clayton Davis passed away January 23, 2012 in Chehalis, Washington at the age of 84. He was born November 9, 1927 to Thomas Clayton and Mary Ellen Convey Davis in Burlingame, California. He graduated from San Mateo High School in San Mateo, California. He received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree (June 1955) and an MBA (1962) from Golden Gate College in San Francisco. He married Constance Belle Howell on August 31, 1946; they were divorced after 30 years. He married Deborah Morgan Taylor on June 18, 1976; she passed away in 2003. Thomas served in the U.S. Army from November 1, 1945 to December 25, 1946. He enlisted in ERC on November 15, 1949, EAD on September 29, 1950 and was released from the EAD September 20, 1952. He served in Korea from October 17, 1951 through July 21, 1952. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal, WI2 BZ, SV, STARS, and United Nations Service Medal. He worked for U.S. Steel, Aero Jet General, Optical Coating, Salk Institute, University of California San Diego, and Cal Poly Tech. Thomas was a member of Elks, Moose, Eagles, VFW, Lions Club and SIRS. He also loved to golf. He is survived by his son, Chase Davis of Fairfax, California; daughter, Cyndy (Ron) Shea of Rochester, Washington; stepdaughter, Patty (David) O’Brien; sister, Mary Ellen Bush of Vacaville, California; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas C. Davis and Mary Ellen Huckfeldt; wife, Deborah M. Davis; one brother and two sisters. Memorial donations may be made to Assured Home Hospice in Centralia, Washington. Services will be scheduled for sometime in June 2012 at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in California.
