Obituary of Rayburn L. Davis

Rayburn (Ray) Lee Davis Rayburn (Ray) Lee Davis of Tenino, 79, passed away on December 26, 2008. He was born on January 2, 1929 in Altus, Oklahoma to Charlie & Nellie Davis. At an early age he & his family moved to Yakima, Washington where Ray grew up. He served in the US Military from 1945-1947. In 1966 Ray moved to Thurston County. Ray retired from St. Martin's University in 1983 where he was a maintenance supervisor. He belonged to the Tenino American Legion Post 5878. Ray enjoyed fishing, hunting, and carpentry. He really had a knack for building things and enjoyed seeing the finished product. Ray was married to the love of his life Joan Patricia Iverson in 1950 and had been widowed for 27 years. He is survived by his 4 wonderful children “the greatest joy of his life”; daughter, Lori (Don), daughter, Suzy (Ron), son, Monty, and daughter Gail (John). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. A memorial service will be held on January 10, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Tenino, Violet Prairie Grange (17910 Violet Prairie Road SE, Tenino WA 98589) to celebrate Ray’s life.
