Obituary of Barbara Lynn Davis

Barbara Lynn Davis Barbara Lynn Davis, 53, of Clayton, NC, passed away after a battle with breast cancer on December 26, 2010, while visiting family in Olympia, WA. She was born June 4, 1957, in Palo Alto, CA, to John William Grass and Elizabeth Kathryn Rehorst Grass. She graduated from Woodside High School in 1975, and received a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of California Santa Barbara three years later. Barbara married Wesley Thomas Davis on September 30, 1978, in Portola Valley, CA. They lived various places in California, including Susanville, Gilroy, San Luis Obispo and Salinas; in Laramie, WY; and Clayton, NC. She was a mathematics teacher in the California Community College System, an office manager at the Laramie Country Club, and a mother. Barbara had a positive, fun attitude and was always smiling, caring and giving. She loved her family, pet cats, travel, sports (golf, racquetball, volleyball, softball), and crafts (crochet, needle point, sewing, beading). Barbara is survived by her husband Wesley and son John Wesley Davis of Clayton, NC; daughters Ann Rhetha Davis of Chehalis, WA, and Katie Elizabeth Davis of Olympia, WA; brothers Bill Grass, Portola Valley, CA, and Jim Grass, Santa Clara, CA; and sisters Judy Grass and Bonnie Grass of Menlo Park, CA.
