Lori Brundren Davider

Obituary of Lori Jo Brundren Davider

Lori Jo Davider was born to Sophia and Don Bundren in Harlowton, MT on July 5, 1963. She passed away on December 20, 2008 due to complications of Inflammatory Breast Cancer. Lori lived the idyllic life of a small town girl. She was the youngest of 5 kids, and her big brothers doted on her as a small child. She was active in many high school activities to include majorette of the high school band, prom royalty, being part of a gang of boys and girls who were great friends to each other then, and remain so today. Lori excelled in track and basketball. She was co-captain of her basketball team and helped lead the Engineers to the State Class B Championship in 1978, no small feat since girls basketball had just been introduced to Harlo 6 short years earlier. She inherited the dubious honor of carrying on her big brothers’ nickname: “Buns”. Lori was determined to give her children the same opportunity of living in the freedom of a small town, so she moved to Rochester, WA. Rochester is a small town surrounded by big cities, and her kids could do what she did as a kid: disappear on their bikes with their friends for the day and show up at suppertime. Lori was fiercely dedicated to her children, and together they took on what life handed them, the good along with the bad. On June 29, 2005, Lori married Rick Davider. The intensity of their love and friendship with each other was just plain fun to witness. Together with their kids they created some great memories: camping, riding their quads, snowboarding and trips. Lori and Rick took on some major projects around the house and the crowning jewel was the huge deck they built onto their home that provided a view of the mountains. On a clear day, Mount Rainer was the backdrop from their yard. Lori loved to sit on her deck and soak up the sun while recuperating from treatments. On November 17, 2006, Lori was diagnosed with Inflammatory Breast Cancer. Lori’s faith in Jesus Christ gave her the courage and strength to fight these past two years. She suffered many setbacks, but always continued to fight, knowing that God was at the wheel. Lori will always be remembered for her compassion and by her wonderful, big smile that could light up a room. Lori is survived by her children Travis and Kaitlin McCann, and her husband Rick. She is also survived by her mother Sophia Ness of Big Fork, MT, brother Doug and Marsha Bundren of Bozeman, brother Ken and Luann Bundren of Tacoma, WA, sister Donna and Don Hammel of Billings. She was preceded in death by her father Don and oldest brother Don. Lori had a small army of fiends, co-workers and church members who have given hours and hours of their time and energy to Lori and her immediate family these past two years. We will forever be indebted to them all, especially her friends Tami Bickel and Donna Smith. We will miss you, Lori. Until we meet again.
