Obituary of Ernest Herman Danell

Sunday, October 16, 2011 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Funeral Alternatives Lacey Chapel 2830 Willamette Dr. NE Lacey, WA 98516 Ernest Herman Danell Ernest Herman Danell, 92, passed away on October 9, 2011. He was born in Tacoma, Washington to Anna (Erickson) and John Danell. He was the third son, first son to be born in America, of his family of four brothers and two sisters. In 1920, Ernest and his family moved to Olympia, Washington. Ernest attended Lacey Grade School, Lacey, Washington and graduated 8th grade in 1933. He was employed by Georgia Pacific Plywood and the State of Washington, and retired in 1982. Ernest married Anna Vandermay of Yelm, Washington on May 30, 1943 in Olympia, Washington. They moved to their residence in Olympia, Washington in 1945 and spent the next 65 years there. In 2010, Ernest moved to Roo-Lan Healthcare Facility, where he resided until his death. He is survived by his wife, Anna; sister, Lilly Bellis of Roseberg, Oregon; sons, Vernon Danell of Gresham, Oregon and Curtis Danell of Olympia, Washington; daughter, Virginia Danell of Gresham, Oregon; grandchildren, Scott Danell, Kim Fitzpatrick, and Michael Danell; and great- grandchildren Blake Danell, Tyler Danell, Cody Fitzpatrick, and Samantha Fitzpatrick.
