Walter Marinus Crosson
1943 – 2009
Loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather,
brother and uncle.
Walter Crosson passed away of a heart attack at home in Rochester, WA on April 1, 2009. Walter began life in Kalamazoo, MI on July 8, 1943 when parents Walter James and Wilhelmina Mary Crosson welcomed their new baby son. He grew up and graduated from Hamtramick High School on June 12, 1963. Later, Walter attended Business classes at Santa Barbara City College. He spent time as a member of the Sea B’s and while serving his country as a member of the United States Navy; he was deployed twice to serve in Vietnam and also served as a Deep Sea Diver for the CIA.
During the time he was employed by Rice Brothers Construction in Somis, CA (1994-1999), Walter met Lois Jean Paris and they were married October 25, 1997. From 2002 – 2004 he was employed in Portland, OR by Kennedy Restoration. Walter then accepted a position as Project Manager from 2004 - 2006 for the Wilbon Plaza Civic Drive Office Building with John L. Scott Real Estate in Gresham, OR. In 2007 Walter began working as a superintendent for Centennial Contractors Enterprises, Inc.
Walter is survived by his wife, Lois J. Crosson; sons, Walter Crosson Jr., Wade Crosson, Glen Sowinski, Nicolas Washburn, Dylan Crosson; stepson, Keith Landis; stepdaughter, Debra Lynn Spector; sister, Lydia McDaniel; 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter James Crosson; mother, Geraldine Gottlieb; sister, Barbara W. Washburn; and Darrell H. Snow.
Family is planning a Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 2:00pm at Masonic Center, 455 North Street SE, Tumwater, WA.
