Obituary of Mary Fiailoa Cook

Monday, January 10, 2010, 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Lacey Funeral Alternatives 2830 Willamette Drive NE Lacey, WA Mary Fiailoa Taufi Cook Mary Cook, age 58, passed away at home after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was born on the island of Aunu'u, American Samoa, on November 2, 1952. Mary served in the U.S. Army from November 1970 until retiring in 1990 as a SFC E7 from the Army Medical Corps. She served the state of Washington as a correctional officer for 12 years with the Department of Corrections at McNeil Island. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, her loving and generous attitude with her family, great friends, and all her co-workers. Mary is survived by her husband of 28 years, Larry, her children Chrystal Mayer of Marina, CA; Jeffrey and Jennifer Cook of Lacey, WA. Mary has 3 loving grandchildren, Leonardo Alesana Hernandez (14) and Leonanie Aulelei Hernandez (8) of Marina, CA and Keira Mae Fiailoa Rosado (3) of Lacey, WA. Mary is survived by two brothers, Faiga Lauvao of Santa Ana, CA and Fatu Taufi of Kent, WA; two sisters Felila Manamea of Walla Walla, WA and Fiutuiga Sautia of Compton CA. Mary was preceeded in death by her father Faitupe Taufi, mother Suamili Mamea, and brothers and sisters; Faiese Lauvao, Alesana Lauvao, Posililai Lauvao, Tone Lauvao, Pisana Sa'au, Gaseli Sa'au, Faitupe Taufi, and Aoulilulitau Tauf.
