Obituary of Elford Norman Clark

Elford "Al" Clark Al was born in Olympia, Washington, March 5, 1924, and passed peacefully at home on February 27, 2011, surrounded by family. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Juanita (Van Mechelen) Clark; and their 3 children, Richard M. Clark Sr. and his wife Nancy of Olympia, Norman B. Clark and his wife Jenny of Olympia, and Linda M. Slifer and her husband Mike of Sitka, Alaska; 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Al was a WWII veteran serving as a B-24 Ball Turret Gunner who completed 50 missions. After the war, he returned to Olympia to marry Juanita on May 17, 1947, raise a family, and operate his own business, Al Clark Locksmith. Life was always full of adventures, including traveling, hunting, fishing and various other outdoor activities with family and friends. Al was a life member of VFW Post #318. A memorial will be held at VFW Post #318, 2902 Martin Way E, Olympia, WA 98506 at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday March 6, 2011. At the family request, donations can be made to Cancer Aide and Research via VFW Post #318, 2902 Martin Way E, Olympia, WA 98506.
