I truly appreciated reading the condolences and I can only speak for myself here. Pamela "Pammy" Webberley, Georgia "My Chocolate Friend (Kathleen used to always say) Armstrong-Cezar, all those other folks who were her friends and coworkers, Carol Johnson-Sorensen (our counselor and Kathleen's friend), all those who cared for Kathleen at BHR, St. Peter Family Practice (J. DelRene Perkins, ARNP), and to all those folks she touched while running "Beginning Again" for the United Ministries and anyne else I failed to mention -- I wanted to "Thank You" for caring, sharing, loving and remembering Kathleen. April 1, 2007; I went to Anthony's Homeport (Kathleen's favorite place) and had a dinner for two in loving memory for the years we had together. I'm so sorry for her children who suffer from her passing - my condolences are heartfelt expressed here. Her children know how I feel and her family knows what is in my heart. You also know that was my stuff Kathleen left behind that was taken....God will deal with you on that!! I will not say anymore...cuz I get upset over it; but Kathleen would want me to leave everything alone, so I am. Kathleen truly loved her kids, her grandkids and her dear friends and family members - you all know that. What an honor to have been in her life, truly!! God bless all of you and God bless Kathleen Jo Childress (Clintsman) (Johansen).

I voluntered at the YWCA in Olympia for years and was able to know and work with Kathleen. I would come in later in the day after she had worked all day with Doree Carr and she would still be happily working away. Doree was surely a greater friend but we all liked and cared for Kathleen. She looked and was so happy in the few years I knew her. May she always rest in peace.

I was with Kathleen from 1995 to April 28, 1998 as we were married in Shelton, WA until our divorced was finalized March 7, 2003. I remained in contact with Kathleen until July of 2005 as she called me and we visited both in person and on the phone. Kathleen was a good-hearted individual. Kathleen was a good Christian woman, loved her family, children and grandchildren and friends very dearly. I was very priviledged to be a part of her life both as her husband and friend and part of me will always miss her. Kathleen's poems, her kindnesses, her love and care stretched beyond and she did more for others on a day-to-day basis. She dearly loved her kids, grandchildren, "Pop", her Mom, her siblings and valued friends. This has been one of the hardest events in my life and has profoundly affected who I am and what I stand for. Thurston County District Court shows her name change as Kathleen Jo Childress-Clintsman-Johansen on May 5, 2005. To publish her name otherwise is wrong. She was a gentle and kind soul, gifted poet and loving mother, wife and friend. In her passing she should be memorialized for what she stood for and believed in accurately and in keeping with what she would want. My deepest condolences to her family and friends. I pray that peace will be found within all of you who have touched her life and that Kathleen is in a better place where she is safe, secure and whole - I would want that for her. She will be always remembered as being honest, loving the Lord and a loving human being.
